The CanaKit 2.5A Raspberry Pi power supply/adapter has been designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi 3, meeting the new 2.5A power requirement. Unlike typical 5V USB power supplies, this adapter has been tested to deliver a full 2.5A while still maintaining voltage within USB specifications, thanks to its inline noise filter. Using a standard USB power supply may cause voltage drops and unexpected reboots.

With this adapter, the Raspberry Pi 3 can be powered at full load, and up to 1.2A can be distributed across the four USB ports. The adapter even has 0.5A of spare output power, ensuring it is not running at its maximum capacity.
